
Italian luxury hotels with free charging for electric vehicles
Our selection of five star retreats in northern Italya, offering charging points for electric cars
According to numbers provided by Relais & Chateaux, more than 30 percent of customers reach hotels belonging to the collection with an electric car. The statistics on the percentage of customers with zero-emission cars, seems to be consistent with the highest spending regime of luxury hotels clients that consequently, can easily afford the highest price required to purchase an EV vehicle.
That said, traveling on battery rather than gasoline, involves some sacrifices and a more extensive planning on where to find possible charging. Fortunately, charging ports are beginning to proliferate also in private structures devote to high-end hospitality and as you can read below, the range of the electric car can now be restored directly in the hotel parking. To make the electric road trip planning easier for those visiting the peninsula The Drivers Club has selected some of the most fascinating five-star hotels in Italy that offer free charging to their customers. The article will be published in three parts each (focusing on north, center, south and islands) and it includes at least two structures per region.

We start from Alto Adige where Ev charging density is far higher than the national average (5 charging ports every 100km). Feuerstein Nature Family Resort has 1 charger with 10kW while in Sarentino, the R&C Terra The Magic Place offers both a Tesla and universal 22kW charger. In Soprabolzano the Adler Lodge Ritten boasts 5 units with 22kW and another 2 charging ports at the Adler Lodge Alpe 2 (one Tesla, one 7.5 kW). Always in Alpe di Siusi, the range con be replenished for free by staying at the Sporthotel Sonne Sole while in Ortisei, Adler Spa Resort Dolomiti and Balance guarantee 14 recharge points (12 universal double 5kW and 2 for Tesla). In Alta Badia, Hotel Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano has a 30kW charger (at a cost of 35 euros for a full tank of electricity) while continuing towards Cortina, Hotel Cristallo - part of the Luxury Collection - has two 22kW charging stations in its parking.

Always in the Veneto region but closer to aristocratic Brenta canals rather than Dolomitic peaks, both the R&C Villa Franceschi Hotel in Mira and the Romantik Hotel Villa Margherita, have Tesla charging points. The region of Valle d’Aosta, finds electric charging representation at Auberge de la Maison in Entreves as well in Corgne where the R&C Bellevue Hotel & Spa has four charging points (3 Tesla and 1 Porsche charger). An electric roadtrip in Liguria can find practical support with range extension through the overnight stay at La Meridiana in Garlenda (2 Tesla 22kW chargers and a universal one) and with the 11kW dock at Villa La Pergola in Alassio. In Lombardy those requiring a room with electric charging Linate airport will find 4 powerful sockets (ranging from 22 to 300kW) at Novotel Linate while on fabled Lake Como, Bianca Relais di Oggiono (Les Collectionneurs circuit) has two one Schneider and one Porsche charger. Outside of the city, the R&C Da Vittorio in Brusaporto (also home to the homonymous three Michelin star restaurant from the Cerea family) offers an 11kW Tesla charging and a BMW socket. Equally pleasurable and brimming with contemporary art, sense of history and exquisite wine making traditions, is the check-in at legendary L'Albereta, which offers to its customers, two 22kW chargers. In the area located between Brescia and Lake Iseo, electric autonomy can be restored in Relais Franciacorta. In Piemonte, lago d’Orta offers 2 Tesla charger at Villa Crespi and 4 Porsche plugs at Laqua by the Lake.

the two addresses that naturally stand out because of location, sublime Michelin-starred kitchens and free electric recharge for guests are the following: Antica Corte Pallavicina (antoher Les Collectionneurs member) in Polesine Parmense of Massimo Spigaroli, is renowned for a mesmerizing farm to table experience and during the experience, guest can use a 11kW Tesla Destination Charger or Porsche Mobile Charger. Finally, for those wishing to visit and reach Modena while travelling on a zero emissions quota, guest house Casa Maria Luigia by three Michelin stars chef Massimo Bottura, greets its guests with a beautiful park, modern art installations and two free charging stations with four 22kW sockets.
